About Me
I am a mechanical engineering student at the University of Calgary with an interest in complex mechanical systems, automotive engineering, control systems, and machine learning. I am pursuing a minor in digital engineering to help bring data-driven approaches to traditionally mechanical issues.
I have been a tinkerer all my life; from disassembling pens as a child to setting up a home server more recently, I have always enjoyed the process of disassembling and improving things. Additionally, I am a massive gearhead and avid Formula 1 fan, which eventually led me to join UCalgary Racing on the drivetrain subteam. Through my Formula SAE experience, I have gained a deep appreciation for the challenges of performance-critical mechanical design, as well as the multidisciplinary nature of such projects.
I regularly work through engineering textbooks outside of coursework, and am currently reading Race Car Vehicle Dynamics by Milliken & Milliken to deepen my understanding of vehicle behavior and to better tune both real vehicles and virtual simulation setups.
Outside of engineering, I am passionate about sports such as soccer, mixed martial arts, and boxing. While combat sports have taught me the value of discipline, lifetime participation in organized soccer has taught me the importance of teamwork and collaboration. I also maintain a large edible garden, which offers a different type of systems design challenge.
I am interested in dynamic, technically demanding roles where I can continue my development as an engineer at the intersection of mechanics, computation, and controls. Feel free to reach out to me through my contact page or send me an email, and thanks for checking out my website!
